Hello, Justin Manor here. I am one of the founding partners of Sosolimited, and I manage the San Diego studio and act as the Chief Innovation Officer. 

For the past year, members of the San Diego studio have been co-organizing a meetup devoted to bringing art + code to the masses. Code Kitchen was born at INST-INT 2016, when JC and Alex met Jason Alderman, another enthusiastic San Diegan. From its inception in a dim Minneapolis bar, Code Kitchen has since grown into a full-fledged group with bi-weekly workshops and gatherings. Members include first-time programmers, professional developers, plus artists, architects, and members of San Diego’s Fab Lab!

Designing the annual Soso holiday card gives us a chance to cut loose and indulge in some creative experimentation. This year, we decided to illustrate one of our favorite Yogi Berra quotes on a poster in celebration of his legendary wit, wisdom, and wordsmithing. We love expressive typography, so we challenged ourselves to bring the hand-crafted flourish of lettering into the algorithmic world of programming. This post walks through the process of coding a set of holiday-themed brushes in Processing and using them to design a poster.

We’re very excited to announce our latest project - our own clothing line!  Sosolimited teamed up with Print All Over Me and the Processing Foundation to create PixelWeaver, a web app that transforms your internet searches into custom duds. 

Sosolimited recently teamed up with The Atlantic Re:think and Porsche of North America to produce a super-fun data-vis promoting the new Porsche Macan.

Last week, I had the pleasure of spending five days at the Walker Art Center in Minneapolis, installing our piece Set Top Box at Graphic Design: Now in Production. I’d never been to the Walker before and found it to be an excellent destination.
