Junior Digital Designer


SOSO is looking for a junior digital designer with a passion for both digital and physical design to join our multidisciplinary studio. Our projects combine graphic design, engineering, data visualization, and software development.

We are looking for someone interested in designing interactive experiences at any scale: including mobile apps, touch-screen interactives, and lighting installations

As a Junior Digital Designer, you will join a multidisciplinary team of designers, engineers, developers, and architects working on exciting digital experiences and physical installations. From day one in the studio, you will be assigned to a client team and hit the ground running.

Your responsibilities will include user research, creating wireframes, designing systems for dynamic content, producing mockups for physical/digital installations, and helping out with a wide range of studio tasks. You will be involved in projects from concept development through construction documents, and into construction administration and production.

As a Junior Digital Designer at SOSO you will:

  • Create new design systems and solve problems within existing ones
  • Assists in audience and user research
  • Design cutting-edge digital experiences for a variety of media
  • Inspire support and excitement for new ideas through image making
  • Design for systems that handle live data and dynamic content
  • Move fluidly between UX, UI, and visual design projects
  • Produce mockups of physical installations
  • Work collaboratively with developers to implement designs

The ideal candidate:

  • Has a strong visual design aesthetic and strong typography skills
  • Considers how an experience works in a variety of contexts, screens, and media
  • Possesses a keen eye for detail
  • Has a degree in graphic design or a related field + some experience working in an agency environment

Bonus points if:

  • You have working knowledge of HTML/CSS, Javascript, or Processing
  • You can create motion graphics in After Effects or Motion
  • You have 3D modeling and rendering skills
