Long before Tarantino produced his movie of the same title, sosolimited paid homage to the sticky floored movie houses of ill repute with 'The Grindhouse Connection', an audio-video slash-up of 70's blacksploitation and sexploitation flicks set to original electrobreak beats.

The grindhouse served up quantities of sex, drugs, and violence unsuitable for mainstream consumption and often showed films back to back around the clock. Taking our cues from this greasy institution, we cut up and forced into submission a formidable catalogue of films including: Dolomite, Black Ceasar, Foxy Brown, Coffy, Faster Pussycat! KILL! KILL!, All things Russ Meyer / BOSOMANIA, Barbarella, and The Mack.

A large free standing wall held the main projection. Two additional projectors showing related text and video were used to activate the floor and walls, turning the large gallery space into a floating world of sin. This was our first musical video performance to be driven by our powerful software library created for reConstitution.
