When soso was invited to perform at the Disgustingly Trendy show—a showcase of local bands and artists—we wanted to do a special performance on the theme of trendiness. Our answer was to mediate a short and painful focus group on the audience.Using cutting edge PowerPoint presentation technologies, we employed an aggressive, hard-probe subliminal projective technique to stimulate internal and intra-audience discussion. Responses were monitored by hidden cameras throughout the space, using facial expression analysis algorithms.Query topics fell somewhere on the spectrum from high apparent validity to casual elegance.
